Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is available on consoles, which brings up questions about how to do certain things in the game that were originally more PC related. For example, one of the things you can do in Doki Doki Literature Club is delete character files, including the one for Monika.

- Deleting Monika’s file requires you to use the in-game desktop
- To do this, select the game’s Settings
- Select Exit to exit to the in-game desktop
- From there, select Files (as seen in the image above)
- Select Monika’s .ch file
- Delete by pressing Y on Xbox, Triangle on PlayStation, or X on Switch
With the arrival of Doki Doki Literature Club Plus on console comes questions like how to delete Monika’s character file. Originally, Doki Doki Literature Club was available on PC and offered features including the ability to use and manipulate the game’s files.
For some, doing this isn’t intuitive as typically you play a game and only touch the files if something is wrong. With Doki Doki Literature Club, this ability to tinker with the game’s files is actually a feature, and a really cool one at that.
Now that Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is on consoles, the process of tinkering with the game’s files is a little different. Don’t worry though, if you’ve never done something like this before, it’s easier on console than it might seem.
If you want to delete Monika’s character file, you’ll need to use the in-game desktop feature that’s included with Doki Doki Literature Plus. While playing Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, you’ll want to select the game’s Settings, then Exit.
After that, you’ll exit out of the game itself and will have access to other features including listening to music and reading emails. While using the in-game desktop, you’ll want to select the “Files” option and look through the Characters section until you find Monika’s .ch file.
From there, you can delete it by pressing Y on Xbox, Triangle on PlayStation, or X on Switch. Don’t worry if you select this and then all of a sudden change your mind as you’ll see an additional confirmation pop up that asks if you’re sure you want to delete Monika’s file.
If you confirm you’re sure, Monika’s file will be deleted.
