FFXIV: How to Get the Island Alligator Mount

It doesn't bite. Usually.

Everyone loves new mounts, and FFXIV makes sure that its players will eat well by releasing new ones every single patch. Most of them aren’t tradable and you need to get them by yourself, and that’s the case with the new Island Alligator mount, released during Patch 6.3 Gods Revel, Lands Tremble.

And as you can expect by its name, this gator fella is related to the Island Sanctuary, which also got a few tweaks in this update. Aside from new tools and a new cap level, you can also get more rewards to use outside of your personal island. Here’s what you need to do to get the Aligator.

Where to Get The Island Alligator Mount in FFXIV

This alligator can be yours if you buy it from the Horrendous Hoarder seller in Island Sanctuary (X12.6, Y28.4) for the salty price of 35000 Seafarer’s Cowries. It will only be available for purchase once you reach Sanctuary Rank 12. This will take a long time farming and profiting on your island, but riding a giant alligator is a unique experience, especially if you’re a Lalafell.

It tops up even the previous most expensive Island mount, the Garlond GL-II, which requires 24000 Seafarer’s Cowries to get, aside from reaching Sanctuary Rank 10. If you took your time for that one, prepare yourself for a whole new season of island shenanigans. But with all of the new features introduced to the island in the new patch, such as new tools and buildings, it might not be as boring as expected.

And that’s everything you need to know about how to get this new mount for Final Fantasy XIV. The latest patch has introduced lots of cool new stuff, so be sure to enjoy it at your own pace while discovering everything that’s new here. Here’s how you can get another of the new mounts, the Blackjack Airship.
