Fire Emblem Three Houses Knowledge Gem Guide

Those who aren’t quite sure what the Knowledge Gem may be pleased to know that it’s an incredibly valuable item and the earlier you pick it up, the better. Why is this gem so good? Well, here’s why: any unit that has the Knowledge Gem equipped will earn additional skill experience. If you’ve been trying to push Ferdinand’s abysmal riding skils up so he can become a Knight, then a gem like this can be incredibly helpful.

How do you get this gem, you ask? Well, there’s two ways that we’re aware of at the moment:

  • Tales of the Red Canyon paralogue — finish Sothis’ chosen paralogue in the portion of the game prior to the time-skip, and there will be a chest in the level that contains the Knowledge Gem. Consider having someone with a Chest Key, or the ability to pick the lock to get your hands on the stone.
  • Holy Tomb battle (which we have a guide for) — ensure that no Crest Stone gets filched by the bandits and you’ll earn a Knowledge Gem at the end of the battle for successfully defending these relics.

Either of these methods will be available to you in terms of acquiring the Fire Emblem Three Houses Knowledge Gem, so don’t fret if you miss out on one or the other: the game’s pretty generous in terms of giving you chances to pick this up. It’ll come in handy especially when you’re trying to bridge the gap between the Advanced and Master classes: you’ll find some units will have to do a hard pivot in terms of skills that they’ve already become proficient in to reach the highest tier of class, so make sure that you don’t pawn it off by mistake or send someone out with it as part of the Online Liaison program.
