Forspoken: How to Fix Quests Not Working

When a detour has another detour.

Forspoken, like most open-world games, is full of side quests and optional activities scattered around the world of Athia. Referred to as Detours and Events, these quests allow the player to take a break from the main storyline and embark on random tasks for bonus rewards and experience. However, you may find yourself unable to complete a Detour for some unknown reason or simply unable to get an Event to trigger. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered – here’s how to fix Quests when they’re not working in Forspoken.

How to Fix Detours and Events Not Completing in Forspoken

Once you arrive in the first town of Cipal, you’ll be introduced to several Detours and Events sprinkled around. Events naturally trigger by walking up to them, while Detours are your more traditional side quests involving a handful of tasks to complete. One Detour, for example, called A Guided Tour, has Frey shown around Cipal’s lower hub area and introduced to a few NPCs. Some of those NPCs, however, may be missing, preventing you from being able to complete the quest.

Fixing this bug couldn’t be easier; just follow these steps:

  • Save your game through the main menu
  • Open the menu again and select ‘Return to title screen’
  • Reload your game

Yeah, that’s it! Simply reloading your game should fix the Detours and Events from not triggering and/or completing. However, if this method doesn’t work, try completely restarting the game after saving your file. When you load it back up, you should see any missing NPCs or quest markers that you didn’t before.
