It is no secret that Fortnite Battle Royale has become one of the most popular video games in the world in a way that had never been seen before in the gaming industry. However, this high level of success for the game over the past couple of years has not stopped random rumors of it shutting down from making their way around the community. If you are one of these curious folk who is wondering if the Epic Games title is shutting down, do not worry, as we have everything you need to know about the future state of the famous game covered for you.
Is Fortnite Shutting Down?
Fortnite is one of the most successful video games in history when it comes to making money, as the battle royale experience has helped Epic Games earn billions of dollars. Now, I am no financial expert, but I would find it hard to believe that Epic Games would want their golden goose no longer around when it is still in its money-making prime.
There is also the fact that the likelihood of the game shutting down is very slim, considering that the first season of Chapter 2 will be wrapping up in the future and is unlikely to mark the end of the entire game’s existence. However, the transitional period to Chapter 2 did have many players worry about their favorite game shutting down when it went offline for a couple of days, and Epic Games went dark on social media. It was soon revealed that Fortnite would not indeed be shutting down.
Epic Games has not made any official statements regarding the shutting down of the battle royale game, so do not take any rumors of a shut down as factual until it comes from the official source.
