The Special Program live stream for Genshin Impact 3.5 version was filled with lots of unexpected announcements. The new update, named “Windblume’s Breath” will be arriving on February 28, 2023 and brings two newcomers as well as new story updates, more big events, some QoL changes, and much more.
This update’s named after another visit to Mondstadt, this time with characters from Sumeru involved, but it will also include a new Traveler chapter, advancing the main story even further. And just like every other live before, we got a few Primogem codes for free. Everything’s down here, so check it out.
Upcoming Banners and New Characters in Genshin Impact 3.5
Newcomers are Dehya and Mika. Dehya will be a new 5-star Pyro Claymore character focused on mitigating damage for herself and her team while dealing loads of damage.
Mika, on the other hand, is a 4-star Cryo Polearm character (even though he also uses a crossbow and a book) focused on support and buffs for Physical characters in particular.
During the first half, we’ll get Dehya and Cyno as the rate-up characters, with their signature Weapons Beacon of the Reed Sea and Staff of Scarlet Sands in the weapon banner.
And contrary to almost all expectations, the banners for the second half are Kamisato Ayaka and Shenhe, with Eula nowhere to be seen! Mika will also be featured as a rate-up 4-star character in this banner, and the Weapons should be the Mistsplitter Reforged and the Calamity Queller.
After 3.5 is done, Mika will be added to the standard pool character, but he’s not the only one. Dehya is also coming to the Wanderlust Invocation banner, just like Tighnari did in 3.0! This is the second time a previously limited character is added to the original five.

New Content and Story Updates
While no new areas are being added to the game, that doesn’t mean that we have no things to do. Dehya is receiving her own Story Chapter and Faruzan is also receiving a new Hangout Event. Yeah, you’re not free from those yet.
But the most interesting content might be the new Traveler’s Chapter story with the return of Dainsleif. The new “Caribert” chapter will also bring Kaeya, another character from Khaenri’ah, finally interacting with his compatriot. This chapter will also mark the introduction of the new Cryo Abyss Herald and a new type of Black Serpent Knight enemy.
All Events and Features from 3.5
The main event is the update’s namesake Windblume’s Breath, marking the return of the Windblume’s Festival. Collei will be around and finally meet with Amber again, while the Traveler can play lots of minigames and receive the Mailed Flower free 4-star Claymore, which can be enhanced by completing the events.
Later in the update, we’ll see more events such as the Spices from the West: Northerly Search, an updated version of a previous cooking event. Two older events are also merged together in the Fungus Mechanicus minigame, combining both the Pokemon-like combat of the Fungi event with the tactical Theather Mechanicus.
Vibro-Crystal Verification will be a simple combat event where you must assemble two different teams for some quirky enemy beating, while Leyline Overflow will return toward the end of the update.
Genius Invokation TCG is also being updated. With the introduction of Eula, Sangonomiya Kokomi, and Kujou Sara cards, the game will surely get a nice meta shift. The Heated Battle mode will also come around, where all Elemental Dice costs will be reduced temporarily.

But the most important part is Intertwined Fates being added as rewards for Archon Quests. Each time you complete a chapter, you can redeem 1 extra Fate from the Adventurer’s Book, and you can claim all Fates from the previously completed quest following the update.
