The curtains rise for another update! During the Special Program livestream for Genshin Impact 3.8 version, named “Secret Summer Paradise”, we could catch a glimpse of what’s to come in the game’s next update, and surprisingly, we won’t be visiting the Golden Apple Archipelago this time. Instead of that, we have another different temporary area this time around.
And that’s where we’ll enjoy this version’s events, minigames, quests, and various other features, such as the upcoming skins for Klee and Kaeya or the free character to be obtained in this update. The Genshin Impact update will be available on July 4, so let’s take a look at what it holds!
Upcoming Banners in Genshin Impact 3.8
Although there are no new characters in this version, Eula’s rerun is almost the same thing. She’s been absent for over a year and a half from banners, so we’re glad our girl’s finally free! And Klee’s here to accompany her, sharing the first half of the banner.
During the final half of the update, we say hello once again to Sangonomiya Kokomi and to the Wanderer. The flying grumpy boy is having his first rerun, and we should expect Faruzan, his dedicated support, to also be finally back as one of the 4-stars.
All New Events and Features in Genshin Impact 3.8
The main event, which shares its name with the update, will be bringing us to a special area in Sumeru which also had a few touches from Alice, Klee’s mom, and the big responsible for the last two Archipelago events.
The Bottlelands (or so they’re called, it’s literally inside a bottle) are the new temporary zones, filled to the brim with treasures, puzzles, and tons of prize-giving activities around the corner. And don’t worry about missing out on some collectibles, as some of them will be highlighted in the map this time around.
The whole area is a big event, acting like an explorable objective. And by completing certain event goals, players can redeem the new Sailwind Sailor skin for Kaeya, who’s playing his part in a theater play. A free Layla is also among the rewards, obtained by completing similar goals in the Bottlelands
The vast majority of events will be happening there, but some other events such as Shared Sight, Perilous Expedition, and Adventurer’s Trials: Advanced will be held as other usual events. Needless to say, they’re not as big in this update as the Summer ones.
New Content, Updates, and More
The main new features are the introduction of two new outfits. Sailwind Sailor Kaeya will be initially given out for free, but will later be added to the store as a paid skin. Similarly, the Blossoming Starlight skin for Klee will only be obtainable through the store with Genesis Crystals from the start of the version. About time for her to get a skin!

Speaking of Kaeya, he’s also getting his own Hangout Events, which will hopefully flesh out his character a little bit more. The quality of these has been increasing lately, and this one shouldn’t be different. Kaedehara Kazuha, Candace, and Yanfei are also getting their own cards in TCG, which will also have a new game mode for this update.

A Small Fontaine Teaser
Fontaine was briefly showcased at the end of the stream, where quick shots of the city were revealed while we followed a new character in their daily patrol routine. There’s also sea navigation filled with treasures and sea creatures in the deep waters! It would be terrible if the stream was cut short, right? Hahaha… Yeah, they fumbled once again. But images were done by that point, and only a few lines of dialogue remained.
Images were uploaded to their official social media accounts after the Fontaine reveal trailer had some technical problems mid-stream. The full trailer was later brought up to them too, and damn, Fontaine looks (and I believe it smells?) good! Might as well save some Primos by attending to the current events to get some of its new characters, right?
