With a massive open-world, Ghost Recon Wildlands is going to require a lot of travel time between destinations. One of the best ways to travel is to pick up a helicopter or airplane and take to the skies. Unfortunately you won’t have a parachute by default, which means jumping out of air-based vehicles and infiltrating bases from the air is going to be impossible at the start. Don’t worry, though, in this article we’ll teach you everything you need to know to unlock the parachute the Ghost Recon Wildlands.
How to Get a Parachute
Unlike many open-world games, Ghost Recon Wildland’s parachute isn’t something you can purchase from a shop just around the corner. Instead, you’re going to need to reach a specific level, and then unlock the skill itself from the Tacmap menu.
To unlock the Parachute, open up your Tacmap by pressing M on the keyboard (Touchpad on PS4 and Select on Xbox One). Navigate to the Skills section and then activate the list of Item skills available. Unlocking the Parachute skill will require 1 Skill Point and 550 Comm Supplies.
The easiest way to ensure you have the required amount of Skill Points is to complete the first mission, Rescue Amaru. This should give you enough experience to level up your Ghost and acquire the Skill Point you need. To earn the Comm Supplies, you’re probably going to want to make sure you go ahead and identify one of the many Supply Raids hidden around the game world. These can be marked using Intel, or by interrogating Sicario Leaders at various Santa Blanca Installations around the province.
Complete the Supply Raid for the Comm Supplies, then open up your Tacmap and unlock the Parachute skill.
How to Use the Parachute
Now that you have the Parachute, let’s go over how to use it. This item can only be activated when falling through the air. This can be accomplished by jumping out of planes or helicopters, or by visiting one of the many locations around the world that are perfect for base jumping.
Once you’re falling, press the Spacebar to open your parachute and begin floating towards the ground. This is extremely useful for infiltrating large bases that do not normally have any decent infiltration routes to offer, like those you’ll find situated within canyons or alcoves of the various mountain ranges that are spread across Bolivia.
Now that you know how to unlock and use the parachute, it’s time to dive into the game. Be sure to take a look at our full list of weapons, which details how to find every gun in the game.
