Although Monster Hunter: World just released on PC, Capcom has already let loose a few free content packs to give players a few additional items to get them started. Now, these items aren’t of much substance just yet—just a few gestures and some hairstyles—but that doesn’t mean content isn’t planned down the line. Unlike a lot of games, Monster Hunter: World doesn’t automatically download add-on content. Here’s what you need to do to claim add-on content for Monster Hunter: World on PC.
How to Claim Add-On Content
One of the best things about Monster Hunter: World is Capcom’s continued support of the game, and knowing how to get your hands on the new content that they release is going to be key if you’d like to enjoy all the hard work the developers have put in. To download add-on content, you’re going to need to head to the Steam Store page for Monster Hunter: World. Here you should be able to see an area marked Downloadable Content For This Game. Here you can see an entire list of all the add-on content available for Monster Hunter: World.
As you can see, some of the add-on content is not available freely, so you’ll need to purchase it for the associated price if you’d like to add it to your game. For the free content, though, all you need to do is click on the DLC content that you want. This will take you to that DLC’s store page. Here you can press on the big Download button to launch Monster Hunter: World and add the content to your game.
Now, the next time that you load up Monster Hunter: World, you should be able to see the content that you claimed in a new window that pops up during the load-in. This is where you’ll see any of the new content that you get from the Steam Store page.
This isn’t the only way to get add-on content, though. In fact, some of the best add-on content that is available for Monster Hunter: World can be claimed directly from within the game itself. Make your way over to our living quarters in Astera and interact with the Housekeeper here. You’ll see an option to Claim Add-Ons and Bonuses. Click this and you should see a list of all the add-on content that you have, as well as if it is claimed or not. Make sure to check here during any special events for additional add-on content that Capcom releases.
