How to Customize Your Character in No Man’s Sky

Once you make your way to a space station, customizing your character to look unique and original is easy. Look around the station—there are usually two different sides that you can explore—until you locate the Character Customization Station. This is also something you can build within your base much later in the game, so keep an eye on that as you progress forward, allowing you to change your character at any time.

When you’ve located the Character Customization Station, walk up to it and interact with it. This will bring up the customization menu. There’s a lot you can do here, we’ve outline all the options below:

  • Race
  • Head
  • Torso
  • Armor
  • Gloves
  • Legs
  • Boots
  • Backpack

Each of these options has several different varieties for you to choose from. Including markings, colors, and other things. Make sure you go through all of them, and change up your race to explore all the different options. Once you’re happy with the way that your character looks, choose to accept the changes, then back out of the character customization screen. Now you should be able to change your camera mode and see what your character looks like in both first and third person mode. Make sure you also head back over to our No Man’s Sky guide for more helpful information, strategy content, and more.
