Jewels allow players to equip new abilities to their weapons, as well as to their armor, giving you the chance to boost up your basic stats and create an even stronger defense or offense against the various creatures that you hunt. Today we’ll go over Jewels in Monster Hunter: World. We’ll also touch on the best way to farm Jewels in Monster Hunter: World to ensure you have plenty of them available to you.
How to Unlock Jewels
Farming for Jewels in Monster Hunter: World is just like farming for anything else in the New World, you’re going to need to know the best places to look, otherwise you’ll be searching for a long time. The good news is, you won’t need to worry about Jewels, or even starting to farm for them until you’ve put a good few hours into the game. After completing the quest Monument Task, and taking on Zorah Magdaros for the second time, you’ll be given a quest to take down a very dangerous and powerful Pukei-Pukei. Slay the monster and you should receive another quest, to track down a Rathian.
Now, this unlocks High Rank content in Monster Hunter: World, something we’ve already discussed in our guide on how to unlock High Rank content. What this also does is allows you to start building and crafting High Rank armor, which is much more powerful than your basic sets of armor, and in turn, allows you to do more with the armor.
This is where Jewels start to come into play. Like Armor Spheres, Jewels can be infused with Armor to give you additional bonuses and abilities. Each piece of High Rank armor has a set of Jewel slots, which you can fill with Jewels to provide those additional bonuses that we just discussed.
