How to get Bait in Far Cry 5

The circle of life is an important factor to take into account in Far Cry 5, especially when you think about hunting. If you’re searching for bigger animals like bears and wolves, then you’ll want to look into bait in order to attract them into traps, allowing you to easily take them out, making the skins worth more. There are a few different animals that will reward you with bait when you kill them, and you’ll want to keep an eye out for animals like chickens, pigs, turkeys, deer, and other smaller animals.

Take out these smaller animals and then loot them to acquire bait for your hunting in Far Cry 5. Of course, you can only hold so much bait, so make sure you stock up and then go hunting for a bit before you try to collect some more.

How to Effectively Use Bait

Like molotovs and other throwable items, Bait is considered a weapon in Far Cry 5. This means you’ll find it on your weapon wheel, in the third second throwable slot with your knives and smoke grenades. Select the Bait in your weapon wheel to equip it, and then head to an area known for the animal that you’re hunting at the time.

Once you are at the area that the animals can be found in, toss the bait into an area and then wait. If there aren’t any animals around for the bait to attract, then you’ll receive a message on the screen. If you don’t receive this message, then continue waiting in hiding until the creature you are hunting comes walking into view. Then, wait for it to start eating, and move in for the strike. This is a great way to attract larger animals like the bears and wolves in the game, and makes it much easier to take them out using your bow, which will make the skins worth much more when you sell them at the vendors scattered around Hope County.
