Unlocking High Rank content in Monster Hunter: World won’t only get you access to new gear and weapons, you’ll also get access to a ton of new quests, investigations, and even the ability to gather newer and rarer materials than you’ve ever gathered before. One of these particular items—the Vespoid Innerwing—is extremely tough to get, and if you want to craft all the gear that you could ever need, you’re going to need to know how to get Vespoid Innerwing in Monster Hunter: World. The good news is we’ve got the answers you need, so let’s dive right in.
How to Find Vespoid Innerwing
Collecting Vespoid Innerwings might not seem that hard, right? Obviously, all you really need to do is kill a few Vespoid and boom, you’re done. Unfortunately, things aren’t quite that simple, and you’ll need to do a little work to bring this rare material back to Astera.
First, you’ll need to head off from Astera on a Hunt or Investigation that offers High Rank content. If you just head out in a normal Expedition you aren’t going to be able to get the items that you’re looking for. This means you’ll want to make your way to the quest board, choose an Investigation or Hunt that works for you, and then head out on it. Just remember to make sure that it is High Rank content, otherwise you’ll be out of luck.
The next step to getting Vespoid Innerwing is to find yourself a group of Vespoid hiding out in the world. These are most easily found in the Ancient Forest, and you can check out our guide on how to find Vespoid for more help locating these pesky bugs.
After finding the Vespoid, it’s time to start hitting them with rocks from your Slinger. You can make use of this handy item by pressing and holding L3 or LT depending on the console that you are playing on. If you just start hitting them with your main weapon, then you’re going to end up shredding them to pieces, taking away the chance to carve the Vespoid Innerwing from their tiny bodies.
When the Vespoid has been taken care of, walk up to it and choose to gather from its body. This should reward you with the Vespoid Innerwing. Now, rinse and repeat the process until you have all of the Vespoid Innerwing that you need. Again, remember this is a very rare material. Which means it might take you quite a few kills to get the items that you need. Vespoid Innerwing isn’t a common material to gain from carving up these bugs, so just keep that in mind while farming for this material.
