Legsy is one of the few new enemies that arrived with Sons of the Forest’s full release. I’ve found it, faced it, learned about its behavior, embraced its creepiness, and beat it. Now, I’ll show you how you can defeat Legsy in Sons of the Forest without much stress.

How to Defeat the Big-Legged Mutant Creature in Sons of the Forest

Early in the game, you will find Legsy, the Big-Legged Mutant Creature found in various caves, where it will hide and pose as a stalagmite whether it’s on the floor or the ceiling. It has a few attack patterns that I will explain below.

By the way, if you’ve missed the Patch Notes for 1.0, you should go and check out what’s new.

  • A lunging attack is an attack where it will quickly wind up and jump on you. Of course, Legsy telegraphs this attack, and you will have some time to dodge it. Strafing left and right while looking at it from a distance ensures you’re on the right trajectory.
  • While being stationary and having players around, Legsy may attempt to perform a Roundhouse kick windmill on a handstand. I’m not even joking. This is why you should always maintain at least a minimum distance between you and Legsy because that move hits hard.
  • A regular swing attack from a close range is nothing special compared to the previous two, but it’s worth noting that it’s a possibility.
  • Legsy can also sprint your way, and it’s a formidable speed, to say the least.
  • Legsy will sometimes taunt you by “applauding” you with… its legs.
  • I have witnessed in three separate tests that Legsy will run for its life when in a critical health state. So, it’s best not to be way too far away from it if you’re trying to shoot it with arrows, for example. You want to get that armor loot!
  • I have tried to “brute force” Legsy in a close-up encounter once to see what would happen, and it managed to take two bone armor charges off of me before dying to my trusty axe because it got staggered a lot of times. I didn’t attempt to block/parry its attacks, but it should be a feasible way of engaging in combat with it 1v1.

In Sons of the Forest 1.0, you will see a lot of Golf Carts, and you ought to check out how to drive them if you’re new to the game.
