While most of Diablo 4’s gameplay can be fairly easy and far from painful, a few specific fights can take some serious coordination and strategy to complete. Take one of the later fights of Act 3 (you know the one), which can be a massive difficulty spike and very difficult to take down solo. One boss that appears when attempting to unlock World Tier 3 can be a massive pain, but we’re here to help make it a little easier. Here’s how to beat the Curator in Diablo 4.
How to Defeat the Curator and Unlock World Tier 3 in Diablo 4
The Curator is located at the end of the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon. To unlock the Dungeon, you’ll need to complete the entire campaign along with the Epilogue. Once done, head to Kyovashad, enter the Cathedral of Light, and head to the back left corner. Here, you’ll be able to start the Dungeon. Most of the Dungeon is rather straightforward, mostly focusing on some variant of killing your enemies. When you get to the end of the run, you’ll be met with the fight. I suggest bringing at least one friend along, but if you can’t, be ready for a fight.
What Are the Curator’s Attacks, and How Do You Avoid Them?
The Curator focuses almost entirely on area-of-effect attacks (AoE), besides a standard slash when you get too close. The main attacks he’ll throw out are a five-pronged attack on the front, several damaging circles across the arena, and several teleports with those five-pronged attacks weaved between each one. For these attacks, you’ll either want to play in the Curator’s face or from a healthy distance if you have Distant attacks. This will either let you get behind him when he does those pronged attacks or allow you to dodge to the side when necessary.

One of the more difficult attacks to deal with is the explosive bone walls it spawns across the map. When he does this attack, there are two ways to go about responding to it. Either you’ll want to find an open space where the walls aren’t nearby so you can dodge them when they explode, or if that isn’t possible, take out the explosive bone walls in a small area to give you room to dodge the damage. Learning when to do each will come more with time and knowledge of the bone wall configurations than anything else.
Besides that, it’s a numbers and time game. If you can dish out enough damage without taking too much, then you’re in the clear. If you’ve defeated him, head over to the Inarius statue in Kyovashad and enjoy World Tier 3!
