While Palworld may have an adorable exterior, its morbid interactions can send chills down your spine. Let’s find out how to butcher a Pal, and if it’s worth doing to keep yourself alive.
How To Make A Meat Cleaver in Palworld
To start harvesting your Pals, you’ll need to create a Meat Cleaver. This item can created at Level 12 and requires 2 Technology Points to unlock from the web of items. To make a Meat Cleaver of your own, you’ll need the following items:
- 5 Ingot
- 20 Wood
- 5 Stone
You can create this from any Crafting Bench, as it does not require a High-Quality Bench to craft. Once you have made it, make sure that you grab it off of the bench and equip it to one of your four available slots. Not only is it a horrifying tool to use on Pals in your party, but it’s also great for causing damage to either Human opponents or Pals roaming in the wild.
How To Butcher A Pal in Palworld
Now, if you’re looking for shock value, there is a specific way that you can slaughter your Pals. The first thing you’ll need to do is ensure that the Pal that you’re hoping to sacrifice is in your party. Once you have done this, toss them onto the ground by pressing E on your Keyboard or LB/L1 on your controller of choice which lets you interact with them. Approach them and bring up the radial menu with either the 4 key on your Keyboard or R3 on your controller, and you’ll see that Pet Pal has been replaced with Butcher Pal. Select this option.
I’ll spare you the details, but it’s more humorous than horrifying when this action is done. Make sure that you no longer need the Pal that you’re sacrificing, because there is no way to undo the deed that has been done. It’s not gory, but it’s still very shocking to watch the action take place, so make sure you’re not playing on a full stomach, or you may just lose your lunch.
What Do You Get For Butchering Pals in Palworld?
If you choose to butcher one of your Pals, you’ll receive a few items for it. That’s it, so it’s up to you to determine if this is the choice that you should make. While it’s great for shock value, the items that you may receive may not be worth the effort of butchering them, unless it’s a legitimate life-or-death situation for your character. If you’re roaming the wilds in search of food and haven’t encountered a wild Pal in a while, this may be the only option that you have.
Otherwise, you’ll receive the same number of items from battling and defeating wild Pals as you will with this method. I guess if you have a Pal that you really can’t stand, or one that is just plain suffering due to the working conditions that you’ve subjected them to, a quick release may not be the worst option around.
