Cutiefly was introduced in Pokemon GO well before 2024, but that doesn’t mean the shiny variation of the Bug-Type has been around since then. Now that the pink variation is on the way, I’ll help you get the next rare catch for your collection.
Can Cutiefly be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
The short answer is yes, you can catch a shiny Cutiefly if you get lucky. Any time after January 13, any Bee Fly Pokemon that you see in the wild will have a chance to appear in the rarer variation. By default, the Bug and Fairy-Type has a bright yellow color. The shiny variation makes it a pastel pink that makes it perfect for holidays like Valentine’s Day.
Your best chance of getting a shiny Cutiefly will be during the Dazzling Dream event in Pokemon GO. This is the debut of the rare form of the Bee Fly and it goes live on January 13, 2024. Trainers will have until the end of the day on January 16 to take full advantage of the increased spawns and event bonuses.
When these events are live, it’s always a good idea to use your Incense Lures, complete Field Research, and place and Lure Modules you might have on PokeStops. Any time that a Pokemon like Cutiefly is part of an event, these methods will give you far better odds of getting the shiny that you want. Just remember that the odds tend to be 1 in 500 without any boosts.
After any events come to an end, the debut forms will always remain in the game. I would keep an eye out for the true Valentine’s Day event in Pokemon GO because Cutiefly will likely return for another chance at adding a shiny to your collection.
