Even though being an originally Chinese game, Honkai Star Rail features tons of different language settings for you. No problems if English’s not your first language, as it’s probably featured in the game. And if you’re curious about other dubs other than English, it’s pretty easy to use them too. Just follow a few steps, and you’re done.
How to Change Text and Voice Language in Honkai: Star Rail
Pause the game by touching the cellphone icon or pressing ESC, then head for the engine icon to open the Settings menu. Now select the third tab, which is precisely Language Settings. Here you can change the language for both Text and Voices. All text languages are here by default, and changing them will have an immediate effect, but you’ll have to download voice languages other than English and restart the game so they can work.
So if your inner weeb convinces you to use Japanese voices, you can come back to these settings and remove English audio to save some space. This is particularly good for mobile devices where game size can get quite big after a few updates.
The game currently supports the following text languages:
- Simplified Chinese
- Traditional Chinese
- English
- Korean
- Japanese
- Spanish
- Russian
- Thai
- Vietnamese
- Indonesian
- French
- German
- Portuguese
Genshin Impact has similar settings but also features texts in Italian and Turkish, so these languages may arrive at Star Rail at a later point.
Voice acting is available in the following languages:
- Chinese
- English
- Japanese
- Korean

As previously mentioned, you’ll need to download each voice pack individually, and changing between them will always require you to restart your game. New patches will always download voice files for all of your currently downloaded languages, so having only one voice pack makes updates slightly smaller. And I guess you would probably like that.
