The Abattoir of Zir event is a new activity in Diablo 4 meant for players already in the endgame. Blizzard says this limited-time event will be the hardest challenge in the game, but comes with a new item that will help complete the activity a bit easier.
How to Find and Complete Abattoir of Zir in Diablo 4
The first requirement before entering the Abattoir of Zir is to complete the Season of Blood Journey. That means completing every Season 2 chapter of challenges, though not all challenges need to be completed. Each chapter only requires a certain number before the chapter’s rewards can be collected.
Completing the Season Journey will unlock the Bloodforged Sigil recipe, which can be crafted at the Occultist in some towns. The Tier 1 recipe will cost 800 Sigil Dust to craft, which can be earned by salvaging Nightmare Dungeon sigils.
Using the Bloodforged Sigil will open up a Blood Portal in Ked Bardu, and will be the actual Abattoir of Zir event. The activity will have players traversing the dungeon, and defeating enough enemies in 10 minutes will summon the final Bloodseekers to kill and complete the event.
The Abattoir of Zir event will be active in Diablo 4 for a limited time, starting on Dec. 5 until the end of the Season of Blood on Jan. 26, 2024.
Diablo 4 Abattoir of Zir Rewards
Players will receive two rewards for completing the Abattoir of Zir for the first time. The first reward is the Tears of Blood Glyph, which will increase the bonus of all rare nodes within range on the paragon tree when slotted in.
It can be upgraded like regular glyphs, but the Tears of Blood cap goes up to level 210. However, it will require more XP to level up than the previous glyphs.
The second reward is a recipe for the next tier’s Bloodforged Sigil. Completing the Abattoir of Zir at higher levels will unlock the next tier up to 25, but can be very difficult the further you go. Blizzard is comparing the difficulty of the first tier to a level 100 Nightmare Dungeon, but completing the event multiple times will reward with much more XP for the Tears of Blood Glyph.
