With the release of Overwatch 2 Invasion, the game is seeing its official debut on Steam. This allows for a few things, chief among them being the ability to launch the game without using the Battle.net launcher. While that’s no longer necessary, you will still need to use a Battle.net account to access the game, though that process can initially be confusing. Here’s how to link your Battle.net account to your Steam account.
How to Play Overwatch 2 on Steam Using Your Battle.net Account
At the time of writing, only Overwatch 2 is available on Steam out of the Blizzard catalog. If other games get added to the store, we’ll include them here.
As for Overwatch 2, the first thing you want to do is download and open the game. As you’re connecting, you’ll be prompted to connect your accounts through two possible methods. The first is for if you have the Battle.net app on your mobile phone. Scanning the QR code will allow you to connect both accounts and be ready to go instantly. The other method is using a pre-designated code that expires after 15 minutes. This method will bring you to a web browser, which will ask you to sign in to your Battle.net account. From there, accept the link, and you’re done!

What Do I Do If That Option Isn’t Available?
If that option isn’t a possibility for you, there is no need to worry. To fix this, you’ll want to go to Battle.net in your browser and log in. Once signed in, click on your name in the top right and select Account Settings. Click Connections on the left side, then scroll down to Steam and go through the connecting process. Once done, both accounts should be linked!
