Defeat Zakhaev is the final story mission of the Zombies campaign in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It features almost everything that players have been through on the main map and an absolutely giant boss fight.
How to Deploy to Zakhaev’s Stronghold in MW3 Zombies
Similar to the two previous act-ending story missions, this one also requires players to exfil from a special location on the map to start the mission properly. The other two exfil locations are still on the map, but players should use the icon of a person running with a star labeled “Defeat Zakhaev.”
How to Complete Defeat Zakhaev Mission in MW3 Zombies
Players will start the mission by jumping from the helicopter to a long strip of land. The mission will have players traveling from one side to the other and face plenty of enemies while completing other objectives. Players will need to proceed to Zakhaev’s facility, which is straightforward and marked on the UI.
Keep pushing forward as shipping containers will open up with zombies, Mimics, and other enemies pouring out. Having a level 3 Pack-a-Punch weapon will make short work of these hordes.
The facility will have mercenaries and snipers to take out, then locate the Aetherium enrichment device and plant the explosive charge on it. Continue to push forward to the Neutralizer, and it is possible to ignore the enemies fighting each other.
Activate the tower-like Neutralizer, and an attack helicopter will show up. Survive and damage it enough to cause the final boss, a giant Aether worm called Orcus, to show up.
Shoot the glowing purple spots on its body to damage it, and avoid its laser and slam attack. Having a Sentry Gun to deal with random enemies can make this easier. Once its health bar has been depleted, the ending cutscene will roll, and you will have completed the Zombies campaign.
