The Tactical Stance is one of the new mechanics added to Modern Warfare 3 that allows you to fire from the side with more accuracy. Here’s how to easily get kills while in tactical stance in MW3.
What is Tactical Stance in Modern Warfare 3
In Modern Warfare 3, Tactical Stance is a new mode that some weapons and scopes can use. It is an alternative to ADS and basically utilizes both ADS and hip-firing features. You can activate this mode by going into ADS, then pressing down. This varies depending on the console you use. For PS5, it’s L2 + D-pad down. On Xbox 360, you’ll need to push ADS + Down on the d-pad. For PC, it’s ADS + V. You can turn it off by pushing those buttons again.
How to Get Easy Tac-Stance Kills in Modern Warfare 3
The best way to get kills while in Tactical Stance is to build your weapon with attachments that increase hip fire and Tac Stance accuracy stats. Modern Warfare 3 is full of attachments that provide small stat bonuses to your weapon. There are five slots that we like to use on our assault rifles to ensure that my Tactical Stance is as accurate as possible and has minimal hip spread across the board.
Tac Stance Attachment Slots that Help Spread:
- Muzzle.
- Underbarrel.
- Laser.
- Barrel.
- Stock.
When you open the Gunsmith, you can select a category and scan the stats on each attachment. As long as you see some green arrows for Tac-Stance spread or accuracy, that is the attachment you need. You won’t have to worry about the ADS speed of the weapon because the stance has its own set of stats to worry about.
However, we still don’t recommend running attachments like no stock because you want to take advantage of the range each attachment will give your Tactical Stance. With all five attachments on your AR geared toward the stance, you can easily get kills at medium range without letting go of the stance. You can move on after you get the 25 kills needed for the AR weapons.
How to Use Tac-Stance in Modern Warfare 3
To use the Tactical Stance, you can aim while you slide or hit down on the d-pad while aiming down sights. The mechanic can get distracting outside camo challenges, so if you don’t need the option, you can turn it off entirely in the game settings. We still leave my option on, but we’ll admit we rarely ever turn our gun sideways unless we feel like jumping into an action movie.
