Let’s be real for a second here. There are a few types of people in most games, and Diablo 4 is no exception: you have people who speedrun the main story before dropping the game, those that do every side quest available, and those who thrive on PvP and only do missions to get better fighting gear. Trust me, I was the third one in many games before developing a stronger interest in quests, so I understand the feeling. If you want to learn more, continue reading to discover how to turn PvP on and off in Diablo 4.
How to Turn PvP On and Off in Diablo 4
To turn on PvP in Diablo 4, you’ll want to venture out into the Fields of Hatred in Kehjistan or the Dry Steppes. From here, you can go into your emote wheel and activate Mark for Blood, becoming Bloodmarked as a result. If you want to turn PvP off and clear your Bloodmarked status, leave the Fields of Hatred or visit an Altar of Cleansing in Denshar or Alzuuda.
Activating Mark for Blood for PvP in Diablo 4
To begin your PvP adventure, head into your emote wheel and select Mark for Blood. If it isn’t there, go into Customize > Misc > Mark for Blood and add it to your emote wheel before saving your changes. Now, whenever you enter the Fields of Hatred, you can activate this and fight other players!

It’s important to note that you can only do this while in the Fields of Hatred! If you try to activate this elsewhere, a “PvP unavailable” button will appear instead. Similarly, if you leave the Fields of Hatred, you’ll automatically turn off your Bloodmarked status.
What Are Fields of Hatred in Diablo 4?
The first step of this process is finding Fields of Hatred! There are two in the game, located in the Dry Steppes and Kehjistan, and they appear as red-shaded areas on your world map. In these two areas, you’ll also find towns with Waypoints teleporters, blacksmiths, and other important vendors you would find in a regular settlement.
