One of the earliest objectives that players encounter in Lightyear Frontier is to feed the animals. This kind of mission is handled differently than players would think, but here is the easiest way to feed the animals in Lightyear Frontier.
How To Feed the Animals in Lightyear Frontier
While it is possible to manually feed the animals in Lightyear Frontier by walking up to them with the right food, some may not stand still long enough as a giant mech hovers over them. The easier method is to feed a Nest with Basic Fodder.
Each area on the map contains a few Nests, giant trees with many holes in them, spread out in the environment. Feeding these Nests with the right food will restore resources in that area, though the effect will only last for a few in-game days.
Some areas require different food, such as Nice Fodder or Sour Fodder. Players will also have to continually feed the Nests to harvest resources repeatedly.
All players need to do is have three Basic Fodder items in their inventory and hit the prompt at the Nest to feed it, completing the objective. The closest Nest is in the shadow of a rock mountain between Pine Heights and The Meadows.
How to Make Basic Fodder in Lightyear Frontier
Basic Fodder can be made in Lightyear Frontier by combining one Plant Oil and one Plant Fiber in the Fodder Oven construct. Plant Fiber can be found by chopping down trees, while Plant Oil is made from the Oil Presser with five Plant Fiber.
The two machines you will need are the Oil Presser and Fodder Oven, which both unlock as you scavenge and create new items. The Oil Presser requires 16 Stone and 12 Wood to build, while the Fodder Oven requires 20 Stone, six Wood, and two Plant Oil.
