The Warlord is a hard enemy to find in the Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, because it is not the boss’s name, and there are subtle clues about where he is. This guide will show how to find and defeat the Warlord.
Who is The Warlord in MW3 Zombies
One of the hardest bosses in MW3’s zombies mode is The Warlord. He’s a late-game boss, meaning you’ll need some seriously powerful gear to bring him down. Don’t worry though, as once he’s beaten, you’ll be handsomely rewarded with high-end equipment access, along with a new Wonder Weapon. Killing him is part of Act 3’s Storm The Castle mission.
How to Find Warlord in MW3 Zombies
The Warlord can be found in the main building of Legacy’s Fortress within the northeast of the orange threat zone. Players can find it on the map in the D2 square.
The boss is part of the Act 3 Tier 3 mission called Storm the Castle. Players will need to follow a specific path to unlock the Legacy’s Fortress:
- Get a Stronghold Keycard by completing a Mercenary Camp, Mercenary Convoy, or through the Buy Station for 2,000 Essence.
- Use the card to enter any Mercenary Stronghold on the map, clear it out, and drill the safe inside.
- Grab the Fortress Keycard – Legacy item.
The Fortress Keycard – Legacy is the key to opening the locked doors of the main building in the Legacy’s Fortress base. Be sure to gear up and upgrade guns beforehand, as there are dozens of mercenaries and even an attack helicopter to deal with.
How to Defeat Warlord in MW3 Zombies
The Warlord is on the second floor of the main building in the fortress. Players will have to deal with two riot shield soldiers upon entering the building, alongside multiple decoys that will distort your vision with a flashbang when shot at.
Go up the stairs carefully and disable any wire and microwave-like traps. Open the door at the top to then deal with more microwave traps and trophy systems in a medium-sized office. The Warlord is named Legacy and will be hiding behind a large cabinet in the back of the room.
Go slow and disable all traps before your team can shoot head-on. Legacy will drop the Strauss’s Research item once defeated, which is required to complete the last objective of the Storm the Castle mission.
