Warhammer 40K: Darktide, like any other game at launch, is dealing with a handful of bugs that impede gameplay. Sure, it’s not as detrimental as most MMO launches, but it can be frustrating for those who just want to slay some heretics. Take the backend error for example, which can randomly happen and is out of your control for the most part. Another error some have run into unfortunately falls under this category. Here’s how to fix the Empty Ticket error in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.
What is the Empty Ticket Error in Darktide?
The Empty Ticket error occurs when queueing up for a game. At random, queueing up for a match will do nothing for a moment, before the Empty Ticket error occurs and fails to search for a match. Normally, the game will search for a match upon queueing up and you’ll be thrown in shortly after. This makes it rather frustrating, as if it happens once, it’ll likely happen on all subsequent queues you try.
Unfortunately, this error doesn’t have many fixes as of the time of writing. Fatshark appears to be aware of the issue and seems to have deployed a fix earlier today that reduced its frequency. It’s still occurring for some, though. The one thing you should try is restarting. We aren’t going to pretend to be programming experts, though the issue seems to be related to a botched login of some kind. Restarting your game will attempt it again, and while it may sometimes just lead to the same problem, it seems to fix the issue for some.

While Darktide may be plagued with classic launch issues, most of these are likely due to the pre-order beta that went live on Thursday. By the time November 30 rolls around, most of these problems should be taken care of.
