Hunt: Showdown 1896 is a major overhaul for Crytek’s first-person bounty-hunting shooter, now available on PC and consoles. This overhaul updates the engine, improves performance, and adds a brand-new map. However, with every major patch, there are some controversial changes and stability issues that players have to deal with for at least a few days. It’s not different this time, and if you’re running into the Failure Detected error while playing Hunt: Showdown 1896, here are a few things you can do to get around it.
Fixing the Hunt: Showdown 1896 Failure Detected Error
For now, this Failure Detected server error is mostly being experienced by EU players in Hunt: Showdown 1896, and we recommend switching to a different server until there’s less stress on the EU servers.
This is known to happen with almost every major patch, and for now, the only thing players can do is either wait or switch to a different region to get around this error message.
You can switch to a different region by going into Game Settings, followed by Region. Outside of the EU, your best bet is to go with Russian servers to have the best possible ping until EU servers are stable again.
This sudden surge of players is the reason for servers to be overloaded. Hunt: Showdown was averaging around 10-20K concurrent players on Steam in the past week. However, with the launch of Hunt: Showdown 1896, the player count is now up to 60K and it’s only rising.
What’s more, the game is currently free to try out on Steam from August 15 to August 19 and discounted by 20%, which means a lot of players are checking out the title as well.
Outside of server issues, multiple users are also running into a black screen at launch or during gameplay.
