How to Fix Twitch Error 2000

First up, the error 2000 happens when you have an unsecured network connection to Twitch. Most of the time, this can be solved by simply refreshing your browser. However, this doesn’t always work, so you might need to look into a few other options.

In some regions in the world, Twitch is blocked, so if you’re using a VPN or happen to be in a new country, you might receive this error when logging in (this is a very specific case though).

You might need to disable the HTML 5 player on Twitch. Click the cog wheel on the stream, go to advanced, and then click disable HTML player 5.

If you have any form of ad-block installed through your Google Chrome extensions, you may need to turn it off when on Twitch. Sometimes when it’s active, Twitch doesn’t play nicely with it. Simply disable to extension in your browser settings and try again.

If the problem persists, you may need to do a complete modem reset. Unplug it from power and let it sit for 60 seconds to completely shut down. When you boot it back up, it should fix any wonky internet issues you’ve been having.

If you’re still having issues, switch the browser you’re using. If you’re using Google Chrome, try Mozilla Firefox or something else. If this fixes the problem, chances are there is another extension you’re using that Twitch doesn’t like (hence the ad-block solution above).

Finally, if you’re watching Twitch through your web browser and changing doesn’t work, download the Twitch desktop app. This can alleviate some of the problems you might be encountering.
