Where to Find Shovels in Baldur’s Gate 3
There are three main ways to find shovels in Baldur’s Gate 3:
- Purchase from vendors
- Find in the wild
- Pick up from enemy loot drops
BG3 has multiple spots around the overworld that are guaranteed to spawn shovels, such as around the beginning beach and in Blighted Village. However, you can also buy them or try your luck at looting one from a fallen foe.

BG3 Shovel Locations
Below are some shovel locations you can find early on in Baldur’s Gate 3:
- Overgrown Ruins Chapel (X: 285, Y: 362) – On the floor just before the Chapel ruins door.
- North of Roadside Cliffs (X: 203, Y: 384) – Inside a dirt pile on the path leading north to Emerald Grove.
- Blighted Village (X: 19, Y: 387) – West of the waypoint teleporter, near a broken wooden fence.
You can also visit merchants like Arron in Emerald Grove and purchase shovels if you have gold to spare.
