Maybe you weren’t aware of it, but there are aliens in The Sims 4! They were added in the Get to Work expansion and it is possible to interact with them, play as them, and even have some weird Alien babies. Also, one of the random alien-related events that were actually present in almost all Sims games from the past is back again – the infamous Alien Abductions!
So, your Sims can get randomly kidnapped by UFOs again, and if for some reason you want to trigger this, check out the guide below that will explain how to increase the chances of the alien kidnappers choosing your Sims.
How to Make Aliens Abduct You in Sims 4
Most of the Alien Abductions happen during the night from 10 PM to 4 AM. I guess Aliens don’t want to work that day shift, huh? When they appear, your Sim will go to “Investigate Weird Light” – this is the action that you cannot cancel, they will just stop whatever they were doing before and head towards the light that leads to the abduction. Your Sim will be beamed up to a UFO and taken away. The only way to try to cancel the departure of your Sims towards the light and the inevitable kidnapping is by placing unavoidable objects in front of them, such as locked doors or some other obstacles.

Eventually, Aliens will return your Sims a few in-game hours later. Upon coming back they will then receive a status related to abduction and aliens. Now for the weird part, all Sims can get abducted and returned, including male, female, and even other Earth-bound aliens – but only male Sims can get back with a 25% chance of being impregnated with an alien baby!
There is a random chance of any Sim being picked up by a UFO, but if you want to increase the odds, this is how:
- Aliens seem more interested in smarter Sims, so a Scientist profession is preferable, with a high Logic stat.
- Having Satelite Dish, The Wormhole Generator, Out of This World Desktop, and Space Rocks will also increase the possibility of abduction.
- You can use Out of this World Desktop and Satellite Dish to make contact with Aliens (after 10 PM, 24h cooldown) which also raises the likelihood of them appearing to pick you up.
How to Prevent Alien Abductions From Happening
If you are not a fan of alien abductions and male pregnancies, you can use the Satellite Dish and select the “Prevent Abductions” option to completely turn off the possibility of random abductions during the next day (24 in-game hours). Have fun!
