The Imaginary Friend Drawing is one of four relics required to open the new Dark Aether Rift added in Season 3: Reloaded for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Here is how to get and upgrade the Imaginary Friend Drawing in MW3 Zombies.
How to Get Imaginary Friend Drawing in MW3 Zombies
The Imaginary Friend Drawing relic can be found by looking underneath the bed at a house located at coordinates I7 after completing the Act 4 Union story mission. The bed is on the second floor.
The building can sometimes be used as a Mercenary Stronghold but does not need to be completed to get it. However, a Stronghold Keycard would be required to access the building if it happens.
Simply lie in a prone position and interact with the container for the Reward Rift with the purple Imaginary Friend Drawing to spawn. There will be no interact prompt on the container unless you have the Death Perception perk, but interacting with it anyway will still work.
How to Upgrade Imaginary Friend Drawing in MW3 Zombies
The purple Imaginary Friend Drawing can be upgraded to gold rarity by doing one of the new Tier 3 Easter eggs. In the red zone at coordinates F5, there will be a purple triangle on the ground.
Stand on the triangle and look around for three purple runes hanging on buildings and structures nearby. Shoot the three purple runes for the triangle to activate and cause mismatched lines to appear on buildings around you.
Stand on the roof/bridge west of the ground triangle and line up the mismatched lines until it looks like a complete triangle. The newly formed shape will glow, and a ring will appear around you with a Perform the Summoning prompt.
Perform the Summoning and kill zombies within the ring until an elite special zombie appears. Defeat the elite enemy to spawn a Reward Rift containing the gold Imaginary Friend Drawing.
