How to Get the Damaged Music Box in Honkai: Star Rail
Before we jump into what the music box does, let’s talk about how to get it! This story starts on Jarilo-VI in Rivet Town, where someone is waiting for her older sister to return home. Throughout this interaction, you’ll tell her you’ll help find the sister, leading to your exploring Rivet Town in search of her.
There are three parts to this damaged music box journey:
- Find and speak to the younger sister
- Obtain the older sister’s ribbon and get the music box
- Return the music box to the older sister
To begin this three-part series, you’ll have to find the younger sister. However, you’ll have to approach her window and speak to her rather than search for a person. To find this building, go up the stairs near the Calyx Bud of Erudition at the bottom of the map. You’ll find some golden sparkles near the metal fence to interact with, starting the conversation with the sister.

Following the brief conversation with her, your next goal is to find a ribbon with a bell on it. You’ll have to defeat the Rivet Town Warp Trotter to obtain it, which you’ll find in the eastern corner on the map below. The easiest way is to teleport to the Stagnant Shadow and travel southeast or from the Abandoned Market Space Anchor.
Once you get the ribbon from the Warp Trotter, return it to the younger sister to get the damaged music box.
What Is the Damaged Music Box Used For in Honkai: Star Rail?
After obtaining the damaged music box, this mini-series has one more part: returning it to its rightful owner! By heading back to where the Warp Trotter was, you’ll find the older sister standing near a dumpster. Once you speak to her and give her the music box, she’ll express her gratitude, rewarding you with a Praise of High Morals! You’ll also complete the achievement “Outworlder”, rewarding you with five Stellar Jades.
