Communicating with your team is one of the most important aspects of Lethal Company, as a quick message can be the difference between life and death. Here’s how to get and use a walkie-talkie in Lethal Company.
Where to Buy the Walkie-Talkie in Lethal Company
You can buy a walkie-talkie in your ship’s terminal store for 12 scrap. To do this, type store into the terminal, enter walkie and type confirm. The walkie-talkie will then appear on the next moon you step foot on.
Once you purchase the walkie-talkie, a delivery ship will appear on your current moon. You’ll know it has arrived when you hear a jingle playing near you. Once the supply ship descends to your moon, interact with it to have your items drop to the floor, which you can pick up and store in your inventory.
The best time to buy items is after selling your items at your company’s moon, as this is the safest location to find and visit the delivery ship.
How to Use the Walkie-Talkie in Lethal Company
The walkie-talkie is a crucial item in Lethal Company used to talk to your team across long distances. You can power your walkie-talkie by pressing Q and speak with it by holding your left mouse button. Powering on your walkie-talkie allows you to hear your team talk to you, but you must hold LMB if you want to send a voice message back to them.
If you need to clear up inventory space, drop it by pressing G and pick it up again by pressing E.
Strategies for Using the Walkie-Talkie in Lethal Company
Turning on the walkie-talkie allows you to hear any crew members who speak using it, even if they’re in a facility while you’re at your ship. You can use this item to navigate your friends through a facility, notifying them of nearby enemies or items.
However, there are two main drawbacks to using the walkie-talkie:
- You have to charge it.
- You may draw the attention of enemies like the eyeless dog.
Keep Your Walkie-Talkie Charged
The first point is that, like the flashlight, you must charge the walkie-talkie’s battery periodically. You can do this for free on your ship, making it simple and easy. However, if it dies while you’re in a facility, you’ll lose a reliable method of communicating with teammates until you charge it.
Be Careful of Nearby Monsters
Another drawback is drawing the attention of enemies sensitive to sound. As long as it is powered on, the walkie-talkie will send your team’s voice to you when they speak. In some unfortunate situations, they may not know that an eyeless dog is right next to you and that you’re hiding in a corner of your ship. If that dog hears you or your team, it’ll charge right at you!
One of the best ways to deal with a situation like this is to head into your ship, close the doors, and quickly tell your team that there is danger nearby and to be careful. That way, they’ll know to keep quiet and tread carefully around the ship, increasing your odds of making it out alive.
