There are a lot of materials you’ll need throughout your time with V Rising, and some are far more important than others when crafting your Vampire stronghold. Here is how to get Blood Essence in V Rising.
How to Get Blood Essence in V Rising
In order to get it, you’ll need to find some enemies with, well, blood. After finding an animal or soldier, start attacking them however you seem fit, as long as they die, you’ll get the blood essence. However, you can feed on them to change your stat bonuses, which can be seen by hovering over the big blood orb at the bottom of your screen.
Once you’ve gotten their health low enough, the “Feed” prompt will appear above their head. Hit the F key to begin feeding on the enemy. However, be aware that you’ll be stuck in the animation while doing this, so if other foes are in the fight, they can still hit you. You can click the right mouse button at any time to cancel the feed.
Make sure you have enough space and time to feed or only do it for the last enemy in the fight to be safe. Once you finish feeding, you’ll get a varying amount of Blood Essence based on their health and level.
You can then use this Blood Essence to build particular objects around your castle. More importantly, though, you can give it to your castle’s heart, which will prevent it from decaying.
V Rising has a decay mechanic similar to other survival games like Rust. Over time, your castle structures will lose durability if there isn’t enough supply of Blood Essence. Click on the castle heart in order to deposit your excess Essence to extend your timer on when the decay will begin.
That’s everything you need to know about how to get Blood Essence in V Rising.
