Getting brute scales in LEGO Fortnite can be pretty difficult. They’re obtained by completing one of the toughest challenges available in the game, but they are very useful if you manage to get them.
Where to Obtain Brute Scales in LEGO Fortnite
Brute Scales are unsurprisingly dropped from Brutes. They are those bigger monsters you might’ve already seen rolling around the map occasionally. These are the hardest enemies available in the game and are quite a rare spawn. They’re usually found in Desert biomes but can also be spotted around Beaches sometimes.
They might or might not be alone, so be careful with those extras. Before you set on hunting Brutes, ensure you have enough protection, have gained plenty of extra health bars, and bring spare weapons and ammo (in case you’re adopting a bow-and-arrow strategy) because this fight will likely be very long. Special trinkets could do wonders, too.
Brutes have very ruthless behavior and might one-shot you if you don’t have enough health. Most of their attacks are very well-telegraphed, though. As soon as you see them ready to lunge at you or lift their arms to the sky, you know it’s time to dodge. Make sure to be accompanied by some friends, too, if you’re not playing alone because while Brutes are soloable, they’re still very challenging opponents.
Once you beat them, they’ll drop the Brute Scale, a piece of their own body. You can use these to upgrade your Crafting Bench and other easier-to-grab equipment. You only need one of these, but finding (and defeating) a Brute is challenging enough, so be glad that we won’t need those anymore.

LEGO Fortnite Brute Strategies
Taking down Brutes is one of the most difficult things you can do in this game. You’ll need to craft the best shield and sword you possibly can. The strategy is to either block or dodge out of Brute attacks with careful timing. You’ll need to attack them in-between their attack cycles to make work of them. Create a bed nearby to have a respawn point close to the brute.
There are currently no other uses for the Scale nor any other method of obtaining these, but new related features could be added at any point. For now, focus on getting enough items for standing up against this beast, such as more powerful crossbows.
