Some resources such as Iron are super easy to come across, whereas other resources like Helium-3 are going to take some exploring to locate. Here’s how to get Caelumite in Starfield.
Where to Find Caelumite in Starfield
The only way to find Caelumite in Starfield is to complete main missions where you find various Artifacts. On the spawn location of most of these Artifacts, you’ll find various Caelumite deposits that can be mined with a Cutter.
You can buy a new cutter at Shepherd’s General Store in Akila City (Cheyenne System).
One can be bought from certain stores or found in the world somewhere if you don’t have one already. There tend to be at least three or four deposits per Artifact, but it can vary and might include more.
If you accidentally skipped out on mining the Caelumite surrounding some Artifacts, there’s no need to worry. If you check your mission log, you can see the locations of all Artifacts you’ve previously visited. From there, it’s as simple as going back and retracing your steps to the Artifact spawn, then mining any Caelumite you may have missed.
Additional Places to Find Caelumite
If you somehow run out and can’t mine more at any Artifact locations, there are a few more places you can find Caelumite. Here are some places with confirmed Caelumite deposits:
- The Empty Nest.
- Argos Extractors Mining Outpost.
- Abandoned Mine.
- Scavenger Burrows.
You can also find Caelumite randomly at various Gravitional Anomalies. There is no confirmed information on where any of these are, as they are entirely procedurally generated. Keep an eye out for them, however.
What is Caelumite Used for in Starfield?
Rather obscurely, Caelumite seems to be used exclusively in the recipes for certain spacesuit upgrades. As one example, the mod Gravitic Composites requires four Caelumite to be crafted and reduces detection from enemies while improving the mass and value of whatever piece of gear you’re wearing. There are likely other applications in the Spacesuit Workbench for Caelumite, though we’ll update this article when we find them.
