Warhammer 40K: Darktide brings plenty of fan-favorite features back from Fatshark’s previous title Vermintide 2. Features such as trinkets, similar classes, and bizarre characters all make a return in the new installment. One more feature that’s carried over is the cosmetics system, which lets you change your portrait, clothing, accessories, and even more to fully make your character yours. How you acquire more may be a tad confusing though. Here’s how to get more cosmetics in Warhammer 40K: Darktide
How to Earn Cosmetics in Warhammer 40K: Darktide
There are a few ways you can get cosmetics, ranging from completely free to requiring real-life funds. The first, and arguably the easiest, is to play matches and level up the character you most want cosmetics for. You’ll get different cosmetics periodically, and should get an Upper Body and Lower Body by the time you’re level 5 with a particular character. Beyond that, different cosmetics such as Accessories, Stances, and Headgear should come around different levels though we have yet to reach those levels.
The other methods will take a little longer, provided you’re reading this guide before launch (November 30). These ways involve the upcoming Shop/Requisitorium, which will offer cosmetics for premium currency, Vermintide rewards, which are given if you played either Vermintide game, pre-order rewards, which are straightforward, Twitch drops, which happen periodically, and the Imperial Edition, which is a deluxe edition version of the game with bonus cosmetics. All of these should automatically be in your account if you play at or after launch, but if you’re playing in the pre-order beta, these won’t be available yet.

While this doesn’t leave a lot of options, cosmetics are very much a side objective anyways. Build crafting with items and feats is going to be the bread and butter of the experience, while cosmetics are merely a flex for other players. Still, there should be a nice handful of cosmetics for those who want to just buy the game and nothing more.
