The cutest starter is naturally the hardest one to find. Here’s how to get Cyndaquil in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk quickly.
How to Get Cyndaquil in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Indigo Disk Fast and Easy
There is one place to find Cyndaquil in all of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk, and it is torturous to get it to spawn. Unless you follow this method, and then it becomes very easy. Here’s how to find Cyndaquil in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
First, to unlock Cyndaquil, you’ll need 3000 BBQ points. You get this by progressing through the game until BB Quests are unlocked and by slowly completing them until you’ve accumulated enough points. Once you have, go to the League Classroom and interact with the terminal there. Then, spend those 3,000 BBQ points on increasing the biodiversity in the Polar Biome.
Yes! Cyndaquil, unlike Chimchar, Torchic, and Scorbunny, are all Fire-types that can be found in the Polar Biome once this is done.
Now that you’ve increased the biodiversity in the Polar Biome, you’ll find that there is only one place where Cyndaquil can spawn. And it’s in a cave.
This cave is in the Northeast of the Polar Biome, close to a trainer who’s obsessed with the Gym Leader Iono. Enter the cave, and you’ll generally find that there are one to three Pokemon inside.
Because so few Pokemon spawn in this cave, it can be hard to get Cyndaquil to appear. Fortunately, we can even up our odds by increasing our Fire Encounter.
How to Get Fire Encounter 2 in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Here’s an easy sandwich to get you to Fire Encounter 2.
- 2 x Curry Powder
- 2 x Wasabi
- 6 x Rice
Look. I know that sandwich looks bad, and it’s going to feel bad to make it. But this is a surefire way to get that Fire Encounter 2 boost, which will make finding Cyndaquil a breeze. I went from finding absolutely zero Cyndaquils to farming these adorable fire rats.
Unfortunately, Curry Powder can only be found in one place. You’ll need to purchase it from Aquiesta Supermarket, in North Levencia in Paldea. It’s quite the hike, but well worth it.
You’ll need to make the sandwich on the polar platform before you cross the water and get to the cave, as there isn’t much room in front of the cave. And once you have that Fire Encounter 2, you can just enter and leave the cave through the tunnel to reset the spawns. You should find Cyndaquil in no time using this method!
