The Dog Bone schematic is a very powerful tool in the Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, as it instantly summons a Tier 3 Hellhound to do your bidding. This Classified schematic can be very difficult to get, and ties in with the Dark Aether Rift.
How to Obtain Dog Bone Schematic in MW3 Zombies
Modern Warfare 3 Zombies can get the Dog Bone Schematic by entering the Dark Aether Rift and completing one of the three Contracts available. The Dark Aether Rift was introduced into Zombies with Season 1, and is located at the giant black tornado south of the red High Threat zone.
Players can access the rift by first completing the Act 4 mission Bad Signal, then collecting four specific items to place on the pedestals at the base of the tornado. Getting each item is a process of its own, and players can check out our guide to unlock the Dark Aether Rift for every item.
Then players will have to enter the rift and complete any of the three Contracts available. The rewards for completing them can be random, so players may have to complete several Contracts before the Dog Bone schematic drops.
Players can also receive an Elder Sigil item to enter an even harder version of the Dark Aether Rift, where players will only have 15 minutes to complete all three Contracts. The Dog Bone schematic can drop in the harder version as well.
What Does the Dog Bone Schematic Do in MW3 Zombies?
The Dog Bone Schematic allows players to summon a Tier 3 Hellhound that will follow the player and attack any threat nearby. It can be crafted before a match and will take up one inventory slot in the rucksack.
Players can also get the same dog within the game by depositing three Chunk of Flesh items into a Doghouse in the red High Threat zone, but it is not as convenient as simply equipping it at the start of a game. However, using the Dog Bone schematic will cause a 48-hour cooldown before another can be created.
