How to Get Excellent Lacquer in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
Excellent Lacquer can be obtained from gathering points in the third zone of the Dappled Forest, gathering points throughout Eldroad, and the “Seek out rare lumber!” Guild mission in your HQ. These three methods can only be accessed at around the middle of the game, but you may see that you need Excellent Lacquer before you can obtain it since it’s one of the materials needed to upgrade your HQ to Level 3.
Gathering Points in the Dappled Forest
The first and easiest place to find Excellent Lacquer in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is from gathering points in the third zone of the Dappled Forest. The Dappled Forest is to the south of your HQ, and you can access it relatively early. However, Excellent Lacquer can only be found in the third zone (the northern end), which isn’t available until after you complete the parallel story segments at Impershi’arc and the Rune-Lens Research Laboratory.
The Dappled Forest is an optional location focused on gathering, and you find the recruitable character Kerrin in the first zone. When you can access the third zone, place Kerrin in your party’s Support slot to activate her ability, which will increase the number of Excellent Lacquer (and other lumber materials) you receive from gathering points. To change your party before heading out, talk to Ymir on the first floor of your castle.
Gathering Points in Eldroad
Eldroad is a story-required location to the northwest of the Dappled Forest. Excellent Lacquer can also be obtained from the gathering points here. Eldroad becomes available at around the same time as the Dappled Forest. It’s a bit more challenging to get through Eldroad, and Excellent Lacquer is more consistently available in the Dappled Forest, but it doesn’t hurt to keep Eldroad in mind when you’re farming for Excellent Lacquer in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Through Guild Missions
The final way to get Excellent Lacquer is through the Guild mission “Seek out rare lumber!” To make the most of your expedition party, select characters with a high Foraging aptitude and the leader skill to increase obtained lumber. For the highest chance of your mission succeeding, select characters who combine to make a team rank of A. Characters with higher aptitudes overall have an easier time of reaching team rank A.
To build the Mission Guild and send out expeditions to “Seek out rare lumber,” you’ll need a Level 3 HQ. Excellent Lacquer is most notably used to upgrade the HQ to Level 3, so you’ll already have some by the time you can access Guild missions. But Excellent Lacquer can be used for more than just upgrading your HQ, so the Guild mission is a good way to obtain extra while you’re out farming in the Dappled Forest.
