After getting a full set of not-that-shabby tools and some initial gear, it’s time to get your hands into some heavier material in Nightingale. Gemstones like Quartz or Sapphires are good examples of that, and here is how you can get more of them quickly.
Where to Find Gemstones in Nightingale
Gemstones can be obtained by mining specific rocks on the overworld. You need to have at least a Simple Mining Pick to be able to break them as the Makeshift version won’t be as strong. Mining sites can be identified by the pointy stones coming out of them, and are usually found next to other lesser ore sites.
Mountains are usually good spots to go if you’re looking for rare gemstones. You can climb them naturally, but having at least a Simple Climbing Pick can be extremely helpful, so bring it if you can. But make sure your inventory has plenty of free space as those Gemstones can get quite heavy with time.
Alternatively, Gemstones are occasionally found inside Chests scattered around the Realm. Those chests usually have randomized loot and can often be found randomly while exploring, but will always be present in Occupations you find, serving as the reward for defeating all opponents that spawn.
Sites of Power, which are basically larger-scale dungeons, will also offer you some Gemstones as the final rewards inside chests. They’re already one of the main objectives to complete in each Realm, so you should go for them as soon as you’re ready with the best equipment and weapons.
Those Gems can be used on a Simple Smelter (or a better version) to make Glass, which will be needed for more constructions later down the line. You have to buy the Smelter blueprint from an Essence Trader as it isn’t a default recipe, so do it as soon as possible to put some use to all of these precious stones you’ve been gathering.
