Iron is an important resource once players are hours into LEGO Fortnite, as it is necessary to make Iron Bars to craft Epic tools. Here’s how to get and make Lego Fortnite iron bars.
How to Get Iron in LEGO Fortnite
Iron can be found in the caves of the Frostlands, the snow biome. Players do not search long in the caves, as the Iron looks like giant orange and brown rock clumps on the walls.
The Iron must be mined with an Epic Pickaxe, which requires eight Obsidian Slabs and five Frostpine Rods to craft at an Epic Crafting Bench. No lower-rarity pickaxes can be used.
The Frostlands feature freezing temperatures, which can harm you by staying in it for too long. Players should either eat Spicy Peppers or equip an Inner Fire Charm to increase cold resistance while mining for Iron.
How to Make Iron Bars in LEGO Fortnite
Collecting Iron for the first time will unlock the Iron Bars recipe. The recipe is located in the Metal Smelter station, which requires 15 Brightcores, 35 Obsidian Slabs, and three Blast Cores to build.
Iron Bars can then be crafted by depositing one Iron and two Brightcores into the Metal Smelter. Brightcores can be found in lava caves within the Dry Valley desert biome.
Lego Fortnite Iron Bars are necessary to craft some of the Epic rarity tools and charms, including the Charm of Resilience, Health Charm, Knight Shield, Longsword, Recurve Crossbow, and Shovel. It is also necessary for some pieces of furniture, such as streetlights and the Grand Chest.
Keep in mind that you’ll need to upgrade your crafting bench to craft Rare and Epic items. There are four levels of bench upgrades, all with their own ingredient requirements.

There are plenty of recipes in LEGO Fortnite that use iron bars. Here are a few recipes that need such an item.
- Charm of Resilience:
- Rare: 3x Wool threads, 10 Sand Shells, 5 Copper Bars, 5 Obsidian Slabs
- Epic: 5 Cursed Bones, 5 Iron Bars, 3 Heavy Wool Threads, 5 Malachite Slabs
- Health Charm (Epic): 3 Arctic Claw, 3 Brute Scale, 3 Heavy Wool Thread, 5 Iron Bar
- Long Sword: 12x Iron Bar
- Recurve Crossbar: 1 Drawstring, 3x Iron Bar, 8x Frostpine Rod
