The Sakurajima update for Palworld has added more levels, gear, new Pals, and even random events like supply drops and meteor showers. These meteor showers can be beneficial to players, so here is how to get Meteorite Fragments in Palworld.
How to Farm Meteorite Fragments in Palworld
Palworld players can get Meteorite Fragments by mining meteorites that fall from the sky. The material and event were recently added with the Sakurajima update.
Meteorites crashing down to the grounds is a new event that can happen randomly. There are no set places or locations where players can expect to find meteorites falling, though the best chances I had were fast traveling in general. You will know when a meteorite is about to fall because a flashing red message will appear on screen: Meteorite descent in progress.
A meteorite will crash from the sky in the general vicinity of the player and it will be marked on your map with a white meteorite icon. The meteorite will be guarded by Selyne, Xenogard, or Xenovader Pals. One of the three will be near it and possibly be fighting any other Pals or humans that happen to be close to it.
Defeat or catch the new Pals to have the meteorite to yourself. There will be Meteorite Fragments on the ground next to the giant rock, but the meteorite itself can be mined for even more fragments. Players can expect to get around two dozen Meteorite Fragments per event.
How to Use Meteorite Fragments in Palworld
The best use for Meteorite Fragments is to craft the Meteor Launcher, a rocket launcher that shoots meteors. The recipe can be unlocked at level 37 by spending three Ancient Technology Points and can be crafted at the Weapon Assembly Line.
The Meteor Launcher requires 100 Meteorite Fragments, 30 Refined Ingot, and 20 Paldium Fragments. The weapon also requires Gatling Gun Bullets for ammo, so be sure to have enough ammo stockpiled before building.
