There are a variety of unique items available to players in ARK: Survival Ascended, but few are as valuable as Silica Pearls. While they may no longer glow as they did in Survival Evolved, let’s find out where you can get some for yourself.
Where To Find Silica Pearls in ARK: Survival Ascended
If you’ve migrated from Survival Evolved into the world of Survival Ascended, you may have noticed that Silicia Pearls have lost one of their main attention grabbers: they don’t glow anywhere near as vibrantly as they used to in the original game. Searching underwater near the Islands and in colder climates and caves can yield a considerable amount of pearls for you. While they may be harder to find in the wild than they used to be, they’re still available to find if you know what you’re searching for.
Dinos may be one of the first things you should tame when you make your way into this new world, you may want to consider taming a few of the aquatic species that are available to aid in your quest. The Angler Fish, in particular, can help illuminate the path and showcase where some of these additional pearls are located.
Since the pearls have less of a natural glow than they did in the previous entry in the franchise, the light given off by this aquatic creature will make them easier to spot than ever before.
If you’re looking for something a little less frightening and a little more adorable, you can tame an Otter to help you search for the Silicia Pearls underwater. If you defeat a sea creature, they may also be able to harvest Pearls from their corpses. Slightly morbid, but effective.
If you’re feeling a bit combative, you can always jump into the fight against a variety of sea creatures and claim a few pearls from them. If you’re hoping to slay your enemies to get these items, find and fight the following:
- Eurypterid
- Trilobite
- Leech
- Coelacanth
