Where to Find Structural Material in Starfield

There are three main ways to get structural materials in Starfield:

  • Purchase from vendors
  • Gather from fauna and flora
  • Random drop from storage containers

If you are okay with spending some money, visiting a shop like Jemison Mercantile in New Atlantis is a quick and easy way to get just about any crafting material you need. Visit a shop, go into their resource section, and scroll down until you find “Structural Material.” If it isn’t there, you may have to wait for up to 24 in-game hours before rechecking the list.

Another option is to harvest plants and enemy corpses on various planets. While not all fauna and flora give structural materials, you can scan them to see what resource types they provide. If you see “Structural,” you’ll know you can harvest it to your heart’s content.

Lastly, there’s a chance you can find structural materials, among other resources, in storage containers as you explore the world. While this is almost completely random and luck-based, it’s good to check any crates you find to see if any appear.

What Is Structural Used for in Starfield?

Structural is a common organic resource used for crafting and completing research projects. In particular, you’ll see it frequently as you build in your outpost, especially if you have multiple and plan on upgrading them into proper bases of operation.
