How to Get Touch of Malice in Destiny 2 (2023)

Eris Morn is a Guardian that has suffered all manner of unspeakable, soul-scarring evil at the hands of the Hive. But she let that hatred fuel her, and now she’s created something absolutely devastating: an Exotic Scout Rifle that will happily put a bullet in the head of any Acolyte, Wizard, or Knight that happens to look at you the wrong way.
Getting Touch of Malice is fairly straightforward. Destiny 2 has brought back a few of the more classic and beloved moments in Destiny 1, including the Raid, King’s Fall. To obtain it, you’ll need to bring to heel the Taken King Oryx himself. But even this momentous feat isn’t necessarily enough. The loot that drops from this final encounter (the sixth, if we’re counting) is random. You’ll get one random weapon or one random armor piece, but the more times you clear this raid, the more likely it is that you’ll snag it.
Fortunately, you can clear this Raid three times a week, if you’re willing to do it with each character on your account. But once you get it, is it good?
Yes, it is. Touch of Malice has the intrinsic perk… Touch of Malice. This intrinsic means that the final round in the magazine deals bonus damage, drawing from the wielder’s life force, and then regenerates itself. Rapidly defeating three targets restores health. So, sacrifice a little to get a lot.

Its other perks offer plenty of stability and reload speed, which you want on a Scout Rifle. But it also has a unique interaction. This weapon has the ability to apply a debuff with Charged with Blight. This perk means that if you land 10 precision hits, you’ll get 10 stacks of Charged with Blight, which you can then activate with the gun’s alt-fire mode. This increases all Weapons of Sorrow damage by 50%, on top of blinding and poisoning a target for 3~ seconds. This means that it has fantastic synergy with the Warlock Exotic Gauntlet, Necrotic Grip, which also deals poison damage that affects all enemies within a certain radius.
For PvE, you couldn’t ask for more.
