Before diving into how to get a rusty trombone, it is important to know how to buy instruments in the game. To do this, head into the Activities menu, scroll down until you see shopping and go into the music store. You will see various instruments, from pianos to flutes and even harmonicas. The prices also range from a few dollars to thousands, but you usually will not see any going for millions.

Your goal is to find a trombone with a “rusty” finish for this particular situation. In the music store, you will find instruments of varying colors and material types, with rusty indicating the trombone’s color. While sometimes you will find silver or gold ones, there is a chance one will be rusty. If you do not see one immediately, you can age up and recheck the store or close and reopen the BitLife app.

The price of your trombone will depend on its age and condition. If it is brand new, you are looking at around $2000, with older instruments for slightly less. While this usually is not enough to break your wallet, you will still want to make sure you have enough money!
