The Mortal Kombat 1 trailer is out. That’s the news. Anyway, yeah, Mortal Kombat “12” will actually be known as Mortal Kombat 1. We are already used to games not following the sequential naming pattern for their sequels (think Battlefield, for example), and today’s announcement is just another treat for the fighting games community, seeing that the new Street Fighter 6 and new Tekken 8 are coming out to this year.
If you’re wondering how to sign up for the Mortal Kombat 1 beta test, we’ll show you how in our guide below.
How to Get Mortal Kombat 1 Beta
The Mortal Kombat 1 Beta will be available in August 2023, approximately one month before the game officially releases. As of now, the beta test has only been confirmed for Xbox and PlayStation players, and will be accessible to those who pre-order Mortal Kombat 1.
Pre-orders for Mortal Kombat 1 are starting on May 19, 2023, and as announced, pre-order bonuses will be access to Shang Tsung, one of the most famous villains in the world of gaming.
Will Mortal Kombat 1 Have Early Access?
Only if you’re a Premium Edition purchaser. Find out more about this in our dedicated “All Mortal Kombat 1 Editions” article.
Here’s the trailer in case you missed it (Rated 17+ by the way, so not for children and those with a feint heart), from the Mortal Kombat official channel. Liu Kang has a few words to say.
If it’s not working out for you, Gamestop has a mirror of the trailer which is (not yet) age-restricted.
It’s a crazy spin-off to the story, and as far as I understand, a different timeline, and a different universe… which will certainly prove to be interesting lore-wise. However, we didn’t see any gameplay footage in this trailer. It’s just a cinematic trailer after all.
