Entering other people’s rooms without their permission is just another boring Tuesday for you in Alone in the Dark. There’s little to no privacy in Derceto’s mansion, but there’s also some ominous secret going on, and you must complete all puzzles inside Perosi’s Room to find out.
How to Solve the Zodiac Lock Puzzle in Perosi’s Room in Alone in the Dark
You get access to Perosi’s Room (also known as Room #6) by collecting its key in the Clerk’s Office on the first floor. The room itself is found at the end of the corridor on the Second Floor, two rooms after Uncle Jeremy’s room.
Once you’re inside the room, you can find four important interaction points:
- The Astarte Artist Colony picture;
- A series of paintings by those artists;
- Perosi’s Notes lying on the green couch;
- The locked drawer.
First, grab Perosi’s Notes from the couch as these will be important for solving this (and future) puzzles.
Now, head to the paintings on the wall opposite it. Start flipping the paintings until you can see the black rot spreading perfectly through the wall. The only visible names should be William Arges, Franklyn Mosig, and Norah Keith.
Now head back to the artists’ picture and look for those same names. You notice that all of them have a number above their heads, and these three in particular give you 294. This is your password for unlocking the drawer.
But how can you do this, as the locker asks you for zodiac signs instead of numbers? By using Perosi’s Notes, of course! The notes establish one number for each of the twelve signs, so you only need to check the corresponding sign to each of the numbers to get your actual password. In this case, it will be Pisces, Libra, and Taurus. Here is what it should look like:
Yeah, it’s as simple as that! Hold Perosi’s Notes close to your heart as this is far from the last time a Zodiac sign puzzle will appear in the game. Depending on your current progress, your next step could now be heading straight to the Boiling Room, so don’t waste your time and head there immediately. You have an uncle to save (or a client to help, depending on which character you’re playing).
