As you travel through the galaxy in Honkai: Star Rail, new challenges, enemies and hazards will start appearing for you to conquer. And those obviously include new puzzles, each of them getting harder and harder than the previous ones. When you arrive at the Xianzhou Luofu, you’ll be faced with one of them: the Navigation Compass, a new type of puzzle resembling a sundial.
While initially, it looks like it’s just another nonsense obstacle whose only purpose is to make you lose your precious time, the logic behind it is pretty simple to follow, and here’s how you can solve it.
How to Solve the Navigation Compass Puzzle in Honkai: Star Rail
The goal of this puzzle is to align all of the orange lines with the blue ones through all of the compass’ rings. Those lines are named Celestial Axis, and they turn green when you move them. When positioned correctly, the Axis will turn blue, so it’s easy to discern if you’re doing something right or not.
The main issue with this puzzle is that two rings will often move together. Whenever that happens, prioritize adjusting the outer ring, and then switch to a different one that doesn’t move it. The central, smaller ring can usually be moved alone, so leave it for last.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to quickly solve this puzzle:
1 – Look for the Celestial Axis on the border that’s already blue.
2 – Press D (or click/touch) to rotate your current ring until its Axis becomes blue.
3 – Use Q to change the ring you’re working in.
4 – Change rings accordingly and focus on adjusting the outer rings first. Leave the smaller, inner ones for last.
After successfully completing the puzzle, your goods will be delivered via aerial transport. You guessed it, it’s another Treasure Chest. There are various Navigation Compasses scattered around all Xianzhou Luofu, so take a few minutes of your time whenever you spot them to get some easy Jades.
